Blackburn

Duncan Thomas Blackburn

Duncan holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand as well as a number of professional and business qualifications. He has been employed in the chemical industry all his working life, first with Sasol and then with the Sentrachem Group of Companies where he attained the position of Managing Director of Safripol and later Karbochem Division. On the acquisition of Sentrachem Ltd by the Dow Chemical Company, he was promoted to CEO of Dow Southern Africa, before participating in a management buyout of SA Calcium Carbide (Pty) Ltd (SACC). He later sold his share in SACC to join the then newly formed Karbochem Holdings (Pty) Ltd as Director.

Brink

Dr Abraham Johannes Brink

After obtaining a D.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from the University of the Free State, Abraham spent 5 years in chemical research with the CSIR and completed a post-doctoral year at the University of British Columbia. He then joined Karbochem in 1977, and has been involved in Karbochem and other chemical operations of the former Sentrachem Group of Companies in various senior capacities until Sentrachem Ltd was acquired by the Dow Chemical Company in 1997. Under Dow, he continued as Regional Manager for Rubber and Latex until he was involved in the acquisition of these businesses by Karbochem Holdings (Pty) Ltd in 2003. Since then, Abraham has been involved as Director with Karbochem Holdings (Pty) Ltd.

Steenkamp

Piet (Petrus) Johannes Steenkamp

Piet started his career in the chemical industry in 1974 at Sasol and later joined the Karbochem Division of the Sentrachem Group of Companies in 1978. He obtained a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry from the Vaal Triangle Technikon (now Vaal University of Technology), a BSc in Operational Research from Potchefstroom University (now North-West University) and a Diploma in Company Direction from the London Institute of Management and Technology. He held several technical and managerial positions in the company over the years and was involved in the acquisition of Karbochem Holdings (Pty) Ltd from Dow in 2003. Since then, Piet has been involved as Director with Karbochem Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
